Christopher B. Cashen has a broad experience in the construction industry.  Mr. Cashen's interest in building and construction began during his educational years at Purdue University, where he studied civil engineering and had an internship with a general contractor in Indianapolis, Indiana.  Following graduation, Mr. Cashen served our country in the U.S. Navy’s Civil Engineer Corps, first in an amphibious construction battalion on the east coast, and then as an assistant resident officer in charge of construction on the island of Guam.  After leaving the Navy, Mr. Cashen spent a couple of years working in commercial building construction in Hampton Roads, Virginia, before attending law school at William & Mary.

Upon graduation, Mr. Cashen practiced law in Atlanta, Georgia, with a mid-sized firm which specialized in representing construction contractors in complex litigation matters.  His law practice broadened out as he moved his family back to Virginia and began a construction business, as well as a land development company.  Mr. Cashen thus brings not only legal experience, but also valuable practical experience, having worked in the construction industry as an owner’s representative (U.S. Navy), a building contractor and seller of completed work, and a landlord.
